Our story

Our B&B is a dream come true

We are Bettina and Jo. Together we have two wonderful children, Anouk and Luna. We have always dreamed of opening a B&B. We both grew up in Aalst, so it seemed logical to start it in our hometown.

After a long search for a suitable location, we opened the doors of our B&B Hof Ter Koningen in March 2020. The original building dates from 1763 and used to be a servants' house, which was part of the castle of Gijzegem.

In 1.5 years, we renovated the entire house into a Bed and Breakfast with 3 guest rooms, including 1 luxury room with a sauna. Since we are located in Aalst, all our rooms are named after important figures from the carnival world.
